Types of Data Collected
1. Permissions and Device Data
To provide the core functionality of AppLock Max, we require certain permissions. We only access this data when necessary for the app to function.
- Usage Stats (Package Usage):
- Purpose: Required to detect when a locked app is launched so we can show the lock screen overlay immediately. We do not store or share your app usage history remotely; it is processed locally on your device.
- Overlay (Display Over Other Apps):
- Purpose: Required to draw the lock screen (PIN/Pattern/Fingerprint) over the apps you have locked.
- Camera:
- Purpose: Used only for the Intruder Selfie feature. If enabled, the app takes a photo when an incorrect PIN/Pattern is entered. These photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Storage (Photos/Media/Files):
- Purpose: Required for the Vault feature to hide/encrypt your photos and videos, and to ensure they are removed from the public gallery. Also used to save Intruder Selfies to your device.
- Notifications:
- Purpose: Used for the Notification Blocker feature to prevent sensitive notifications from appearing in the system bar.
2. Non-Personal Data (Usage Data)
We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our app. This may include:
- Device type and model
- Operating system version
- Unique device identifiers (Advertising ID)
- App crash logs and performance data
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.
- Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use your device’s Advertising ID to show personalized ads.
- Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics): We use Firebase to analyze app usage and crash reports to improve stability.
How We Use Your Information
AppLock Max uses the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service (e.g., locking apps, hiding photos).
- To monitor the usage of the Service and detect technical issues.
- To show relevant advertisements (via AdMob).
- To improve our app based on crash reports and user feedback.
Data Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we use commercially acceptable means of protecting it.
- Vault Security: Files hidden in the Vault are encrypted/moved to a secure directory. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- Local Processing: Sensitive data like Intruder Selfies and Lock settings are processed locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
